Mini Food Crawl: The Tastiest Treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

It’s officially time to kick off the holiday season, because Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has begun at Walt Disney World—and if there’s anyone qualified to be an arbiter of celebrations, it’s Mickey Mouse himself. And he sure knows how to throw a party! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an evening celebration that runs select days from November 8 to December 18 and features live entertainment, spectacular fireworks, an oh-so-magical parade, and an array of delicious desserts. The parade includes all of your favorite characters and an appearance from Santa himself. The “Holiday Wishes” fireworks show will blow you away. We might be biased, but we have to admit that the food is what we’re the most excited for, and once you find out about all the holiday treats, we think you’ll be ready to head to Walt Disney World yourselves. Prepare your appetites:

Peppermint Fudge Sundae
Sundae
Grab your spoons and head to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A. to get a taste of this festive treat! With scoops of vanilla and mint chocolate chip ice cream nestled in a waffle bowl, and topped with a pile of whipped cream and crushed candy canes, it’s a decadent delight that will satisfy anyone with a serious sweet tooth. And we promise, it’s not weird to eat ice cream in the winter (especially when you’re in the warm Orlando weather).

Holiday Peppermint Swirl Cupcake

Candy canes are a holiday-season staple, and this Peppermint Swirl Cupcake puts a fun twist on the Christmastime treat. The cupcake itself is chocolate-peppermint flavored, and it’s topped with a rich buttercream frosting and candy cane sprinkles. We suggest pairing it with a cup of the delicious complimentary hot chocolate provided at the party.

Holiday Bear Cupcake

This little bear cupcake is definitely cute enough to eat. The sweet treat, available at Main Street Bakery, is a vanilla cake with peanut butter chips and chocolate frosting.

Holiday Tree Cupcake
TreeCupcake
The Holiday Tree Cupcake is sort of like a much yummier, tastier take on your basic spice cake. The cupcake is infused with orange zest, cinnamon, clove, and star anise, and topped with sprinkles, buttercream icing, and an edible star. You can grab this one at Gaston’s Tavern.

Pumpkin Spice Waffle
PumpkinWaffle
Spice is nice, especially when you combine it with one of our favorite foods—waffles! Head to Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square to get a plate of these Pumpkin Spice Waffles. If the waffles alone don’t already have your mouth watering, keep in mind they come dusted with powdered sugar and topped with a scoop of ice cream with red and green sprinkles.

We are salivating just looking at all these sweets. A Walt Disney World trip may be in order soon.
