Forget far far away–in just a couple weeks the fun and excitement of Star Wars will be arriving in our very own galaxy, when Star Wars Weekends comes to Walt Disney World Resort. From May 17 to June 9, the Star Wars universe will be expanding its empire throughout Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with a number of attractions and special guests on hand from Friday through Sunday of each weekend.
Included as part of the event will be expanded sessions at the Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy, which ought to come in especially handy when the Imperial Stormtroopers of the 501st Legion march through the Park. A gaggle of Wookies, Ewoks, Jawas, and other intergalactic creatures will also be in attendance, providing thrills, laughs, and even some hip-shaking at the Hyperspace Hoopla–a comedy and dance party that will end each day’s festivities. In addition to all of the costumed characters that guests will see out and about enjoying the rides, Star Wars stars Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Warwick Davis (Ewok Wicket W. Warrick), and Ray Park (Darth Maul) have already been announced for Q&As, with more celebrities of the saga to come. Jedi Mickey also plans to get in on the fun, as he’ll be featured in an exclusive new Starfighter toy set that is looking like a must-have for fans of the series.
