E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is a wrap for 2014, so we’re taking a look back at the big announcements Disney made for this year’s show.
First up was Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, the 2.0 edition of the popular game released last year. The new edition is set to include over 20 Marvel characters that you can play with, alongside the Disney characters already available and still to come. This week saw the announcement of a Spider-Man Play Set, which will set up a battle that pits Spidey, Iron Fist, Nick Fury, and Nova against classic Spider Man villains including Venom, Green Goblin, and Mysterio.
The figures look pretty spectacular, which is no big surprise following the strong design of the Disney Infinity toys thus far.
There are more announcements coming our way from the Disney Infinity team, so keep an eye out for even more characters to be announced soon.
E3 also gave guests a chance to see more of Fantasia: Music Evolved, which has an officially announced release date: October 21, 2014.
The game is an innovative music and motion experience where players physically interact with a virtual space, moving along with the music to affect what happens on screen. Harmonix, the studio behind the game, are pioneers in the space of combining music, gaming, and motion controls, and are set to further expand the way we look at what a video game even is when Fantasia: Music Evolved comes to Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Take a look at this demonstration of how the game is played without any controllers at all, including a look at the newly announced level, “The Neighborhood.” You’ll see how the player’s actions transform a 2d urban cityscape, bringing it to life in some pretty surprising ways thanks to a little bit of musical magic:
