A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

In September of 2013, we had our first family trip to Disney World. I had been there many times as a child and teen, but it was my husband’s and four children’s first time. There was a lot on the line to make sure this vacation was as magical as I had described Disney World to be! I researched and planned out every minute to make sure we optimized every magical moment of our trip. Having three sons and one daughter, I knew a trip to Cinderella’s Castle and a meal at the Royal Table was a definite must, so I worked on getting a reservation for a special “Girl’s Night” at the Royal Table. At the time of planning, I had no idea what I was doing and took the first available reservation I could find for a meal, which happened to be on Sunday, September 17, at 8:30. My daughter, Maggie, my Mother in Law, and myself arrived and met with Cinderella, got our picture and were escorted to our table. Our lovely cast member serving our table told my daughter, “Well, Maggie, we were waiting for you to arrive and I’ve given the signal that the fireworks can begin!” And off they went. Our table was in the perfect spot to watch the fireworks launch from the roof of the castle! Shortly after, the “Wishing Ceremony” began. We watched Maggie participate in the ceremony and make her wish. After, Princess Ariel came by our table to greet Maggie and asked her what she wished for. Maggie told her, “I wished for a baby sister!” My Mother in Law and I looked at each other and laughed and laughed and Ariel touched my arm and said, “Good luck with that, Mom!” As we left the castle, we watched the Electrical Parade, found my husband and sons and enjoyed a magical night thanks to Extra Magic Hours – there is nothing more magical than the park after hours! As we left the park in the wee-hours of the morning, I told my husband all about our daughter’s wish and he got a good laugh about it too. Turns out that night was more magical than we thought! In five weeks, Maggie (and her brothers) will be welcoming a BABY SISTER to our family. Thanks, Disney, for a truly magical experience. We can’t wait until we can share the magic with our newest princess.
