Exclusive: Announcing Farewell to the Falls: A Gravity Falls Art Show

It’s no secret that we here at Oh My Disney love Gravity Falls.

The Disney XD animated series, which was spooky, funny, and heartbreaking (sometimes in the same episode), ended its impeccable run earlier this year, but our love for the series remained.

So right before Gravity Falls ended, we started working on a gallery show that would celebrate the entire show. We wanted to highlight many of the talented people who made the series so special, and feature their art right alongside those that were so profoundly inspired by the show.

Which is why we are so excited to announce Farewell to the Falls: A Gravity Falls Art Show, coming to the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California, from August 6 – August 21, 2016. The opening gala will be on August 6 from 7 to 10. You won’t want to miss it (trust me).

Farewell to the Falls is a unique collaboration between Oh My Disney, Cyclops Print Works (home to all of your favorite Disney-inspired prints), and Gallery Nucleus, who worked on the project alongside Disney XD and Disney Publishing Worldwide. Alex Hirsch, the creator and executive producer of Gravity Falls, was heavily involved as well, picking artists and giving his okay on pieces inspired by the show.

Hirsch said of the show: “Gravity Falls didn’t just appear overnight–every spooky cave and moss covered tree was created by a team of brilliant artists. Now for the first time ever many of these artists, and a few talented friends, will be showcasing original art in tribute to Gravity Falls–including goodies to purchase and oddities to behold. I hope to see you there!”

So what can we tell you about Farewell to the Falls? Well, it wouldn’t be Gravity Falls unless there some mystery. Keep your eyes peeled to Oh My Disney for the full list of artists and events planned for the show, including a signing of the forthcoming Journal #3, out this July from Disney Publishing Worldwide.

And if you can’t make it to the show, don’t worry–artwork (including prints and originals)–will be online shortly after the show opens. It’s going to be weird!
