What It’s Like Going to a Concert, As Told By Disney Characters

Going to a concert can be the best of times, and the worst of times. Sometimes watching your favorite band is like heaven on earth, you enjoy the company of your fellow concertgoers, and everyone is like the hoop that never ends that Pocahontas sings about. HOWEVER, sometimes fans, venues, bands, and tired feet scheme against you. Here’s what we’re talking about…

All day before the show, you are super psyched to see (ENTER BAND’S NAME HERE) and you feel a little like this.

Pongo Smiling

After work/school/etc. you go home to prep, make sure you’re looking good. Representing.

But you always pick functional shoes, because as we all know, concerts = standing for an inappropriately long amount of time.

Pain and Panic from Hercules

Then you head to the show, checking your pockets, wallet, or purse about three times to make sure you didn’t forget your tickets. Because that would LITERALLY be the end of the world.

Flynn Rider from Tangled

Parking is never good at any concert venue or theater, neither is it cheap. This is all just part of the experience, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you’ll be.

Once inside, first order of business is scoping out a spot to watch from. You need to score the perfect balance of ocular advantage, ability to move a bit, access to the bathroom and refreshments, and the ability to breathe. This is close to impossible.

Puppies from 101 Dalmatians

No matter how hard you try to achieve this golden balance, there is always the chance that someone will violate concert etiquette and stand right in front of you. This person is almost always tall or with big hair and a booming voice.

Balloo dacing

Also, there’s always the opening acts to wait through. Maybe they’ll be a great new band you really want to hear! Or maybe they won’t be.

Sebatian from The Little Mermaid

Then for some reason it will take forever to get the stage ready for the headliner, because the venue wants to build the anticipation. This is a boring time you must endure at shows.

Prince Charming bowing

FINALLY, the band you came to see, the best band ever, will take the stage, and you’ll be like:

That’s exactly the same moment that everyone will crowd the stage, so try to hold your hard-earned territory!

Oliver and Company

You’ll spend the next hour getting your dance on, or maybe just politely nodding your head–whatever makes you happy. Do your thing. Don’t let the haters make you hold still.

Robin Hood dancing in the forest

Watch out for crowd surfers. Likewise, if crowd surfing, be sure people have your back.

Esmerelda from Hunchback of Notre Dame

Either way, after a few hours of standing and/or dancing, you’re going to feel like this.

Pongo walking

And you won’t be able to hear a thing, but that’s okay, because your brain will hopefully have some of your favorite songs stuck in it.
