With the ongoing Disney Magical Time in NYC Sweepstakes, you can enter for a chance to win a $1,000 gift card for a shopping spree at the Disney Store in Times Square. This got us thinking: If, hypothetically, Disney characters could magically transport themselves to our world, what would they buy if they had an extra $1,000? Let’s consider:
Gaston

We think Gaston would buy between a lifetime supply of eggs, because, according to his song, he goes through them at a staggering rate. With any extra cash, he’s purchase enough mirrors to fill all the wallspace in his house.
Ariel

If there’s one thing our favorite mermaid loves, it’s gadgets and gizmos. Ariel would spend $1,000 in record time buying human chatskis galore.
Winnie the Pooh

He would never have to be apart from his beloved honey again.
Minnie Mouse

Minnie would buy $1,000 worth of clothes featuring her signature style – bows!
Abu

Abu is all about this enormous ruby, so we’re guessing he’d go for the bling on his shopping spree. Diamonds, rubies, gold; Abu’s going straight for anything shiny.
Mike and Sulley

It’s tough keeping up the #1 scare record, so we think Mike and Sulley would use $1,000 to buy a state of the art training facility.
Scar

Firstly, we think Scar would try to pay off the closest king he could find for a chance at a throne. If that didn’t work, we bet he’d hire some backup singers, because those hyenas are just not up to par.
Lightning McQueen

Lightning would buy new white hubcaps, of course!
Jane

Jane might want to bring some mod cons to the jungle; perhaps indoor plumbing?
Hercules

We think Hercules is probably doing okay money-wise as he has a lot of endorsement deals. So, we think he’d spend the $1,000 on his friends. A nice statue for Phil, a new toga for Meg, and lots of hay (?) for Pegasus.
Nana

Nana could use some R&R. She’d buy a plush new dog house suitable for indoor use, and maybe a few vacation days.
Roger and Anita

Without getting into specifics, owning one hundred plus dogs seems like it could get messy. We think Roger and Anita would use the money to hire a professional dog-washer, and maybe some drop-cloths for that furniture.
Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey

This job looks downright miserable. We think Mickey would use the money to hire an assistant apprentice to deal with those mischievous brooms.
While dozens of eggs, hay, and indoor plumbing are all worthwhile, we’re way more excited about the awesome items we can actually buy at the Disney Store! What would you buy with a $1,000 shopping spree? Don’t forget to enter the sweepstakes for your chance to win!
