Happy Throwback Thursday! We thought we’d celebrate #TBT by reminiscing about one of our favorite ‘80s Disney films – Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. We all know and love the story of brilliant inventor, Wayne Szalinski, who accidentally shrinks his children and his neighbors children (whoops). To relive this timeless tale, here are some of our favorite quotes and moments from the film:
“If this thing works it will put us right up there with the invention of electricity… first man in space.”

Wayne Szalinski is the Einstein of our generation.
“We’re too small, he can’t hear us!” – Amy

Fact: “Mini Nick” is even more adorable than “Little Nick.”
“Help! Help!”

Note: running from a giant broom is something we hope we never have to do.
“We’re now a quarter of an inch tall and sixty-four feet from the house. That’s the equivalent of 3.2 miles, that’s a long way, even for a man of science.”

If only there was a monorail in the Szalinski’s backyard.
“I shrunk the kids.”

The perfect time for a magnifying glass. Also, Wayne is so excited to have successfully (accidentally) shrunk his kids.
“Earthquake” – Ron
“No, worse. Lawn mower!” – Nick

THE TERROR. #ShrunkProblems
“Dad, don’t eat me!”

Don’t cry over a ginormous bowl of milk.
It wouldn’t be an appreciation post about Honey, I Shrunk the Kids without talking about the perfect girl-next-door romance between Russ Thompson and Amy Szalinski. One of our favorite moments between Russ and Amy is when he decides to tell her how he really feels… “I would’ve come by. I wanted to, but I always thought you were too popular to notice me.”
And then the wonderful moment when Russ has the courage to ask Amy to their school dance…
“Do you want to go to the dance Friday?” – Russ
“I’d love to.” – Amy

Ah, young love.
What is your favorite moment from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids?
