Sometimes, the best words for any situation are not your own. More specifically, sometimes the best words are a Disney quote. Disney films are full of eloquent people, but sometimes, it’s the objects that have the quality zingers. How is it that doorknobs, trucks, and clocks have so many great things to say? That’s just the magic of Disney, people. Here are a few of our favorite quotes from objects that (sadly) aren’t as vocal in the real world:
“As I always say, it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!” – Cogsworth

It’s wordplay and it’s true.
“No, impassible. Nothing’s impossible.” – Doorknob

We quite agree, doorknob. The door might be impassible, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get through.
“My name is Dug. I have just met you, and I love you.” – Dug

We hope this is what all dogs think when they see us, because this is certainly what we think when we see dogs.
“Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow.” – Magic Mirror

This is one of the most recognizable quotes in Disney history, and it was SAID BY A MIRROR. Well played, Walt.
“Young man, sometimes the right path is not the easiest one.” – Grandmother Willow

First of all, when she calls John Smith “young,” she really means it, because Grandmother Willow is probably hundreds of years old. She’s been around the forest enough to be unafraid to share the tough truths. What would they have done without her?
“I’ve been burned by you before!” – Fifi

Although Lumiere is a candle when Fifi says this, we have a feeling she’s referring to his pre-enchantment days.
“But of course we talk, my dear.”
“If there’s anyone worth talking to.” – Alice in Wonderland flowers

Who knew flowers were so cliquey? We guess they’re just partial to people from their garden.
“I thought I could. I thought I could. I thought I could. Woo-hoo!” – Casey, Jr.

Woo-hoo, indeed. Nothing illustrates the power of positive thought like Casey Jr.’s hill-climbing.
“You most certainly did not, you pompous, paraffin-headed peabrain!” – Cogsworth
“En garde, you… you overgrown pocket watch!” – Lumiere

We love fancy insults. It’s so Shakespearean. (Okay, so they are technically humans when they say this, but since they’re former objects, we’ll take it.)
“I’m a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics.” – Lightning McQueen
“You hurt your what?” – Mater

Oh, Mater. It’s so funny, and it’s so accidental. (The best jokes often are.)
What is your favorite Disney quote from the list?
