Even before Stitch made his way into Lilo’s life, there was Scrump: big-headed, button-eyed Scrump. It is obvious how much Lilo loves her doll, after all she did make it herself! An Ode to Scrump
The tiny doll that Lilo made,
With love and patience in each stitch,
When she was small and was afraid,
And she would make the others twitch,
Was small and green with string for hair,
A pink bow on her tiny head.
On second thought, her head was plump,
And made the other children stare,
But there was love in every thread.
By name we called her Scrump.
Her head was big for any doll,
Some small bugs played a part in that,
But she was there for the big brawl,
Against a little redhead brat.
Though inside she was quite upset,
With bugs inside for all her life
She stayed by Lilo every mile,
So there was not one need to fret,
Or be afraid in times of strife.
Scrump would be there with a smile.
When Stitch was being taken from,
his family so very small,
On rollerskate did bravely come,
Small Scrump to save them one-and-all.
As Dr. Jumba Jookiba,
Attempted to tear home apart,
Small Scrump just smiled and rolled along,
Love for ‘ohana in her heart,
When all was done we said “Hurrah!”
They’d found a place to all belong.
