Sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to do and sometimes you get to look at pictures of Richard Madden as your actual job. Today, we did the latter. And we did it for you. Because we like you, and also because we had to prove that Richard Madden not only plays a prince in Cinderella, but he is actually a real-life prince and there is no denying it. So, for the benefit of mankind, and because he’s dreamy, we’ll begin our argument:
He’s a Gentlemen
Look how happy Lily James is just to be in his presence, and to have him as an escort. She is an actress, used to to seeing a-list celebrities all day long. This is a level of excitement we have to assume she reserves for royalty.
He Looks Important at Press Conferences
If we didn’t know he was answering questions about Cinderella, we’d assume he was announcing some new royal decree. Perhaps a new holiday? Fingers crossed.
He Has Time For the Commoners*
*This is actually Patrick Doyle (Cinderella composer) but he’s wearing a kilt and doesn’t it look like Lily and Richard are greeting him at a state dinner? Rhetorical question. Yes it does.
He Listens Intently and Makes Eye Contact While Being Presented Silly Things

We have it on good authority that this is something they teach in “How to be a Prince 101.”
He Makes Appearances at Exhibits About Himself
This is a London costume exhibit. He is standing in front of clothes he once wore. That is what princes do. Like it’s so much of what princes do. We can’t press that upon you enough.
His Hair Defies the Laws of Gravity
How is it so perfectly in place? So bouncy yet masculine? Because it’s royal hair and doesn’t have to follow commoner hair rules, obviously.
He Makes Pouty Faces to Denote He’s Thinking About Serious Issues
Princes have to think about serious issues. They have to reassure us that they’re thinking about serious issues. Hence, the pouty face.
He Poses in Front of Actual Castles

And whispers what we assume is something to the effect of,”I just got back from dinner with the King and we shared a lovely tiramisu” in the ears of whoever is closest to him.
Come to think of it, we might have to go see Cinderella again. You know… for research.
Do you think Richard Madden is a real-life prince or merely an actor of good quality and handsome looks?
Uh oh! Please try again later.
