Last Friday we were lucky enough to attend Pixar’s Motorama, a car show featuring awesome cars owned by Pixar employees! If you’re going to invite us to anything involving cars, we’re going to make it about Cars. Naturally. So we asked Jay Shuster (character designer for both Cars films and all-around cool guy), to accompany us around Motorama and Cars-ify, some of the cars on display. Jay was nice enough to say yes, and our hearts were filled with joy.
We told Jay to wander around and find the cars that called to him, and then to sketch those cars as if they were characters in the films. It was truly amazing to watch the process from start to finish before our eyes. Since you all couldn’t be there with us, we’ve got the before and after images for you today!
Fun fact: The orange car is owned by Pixar chief John Lasseter!
