Guys, it’s winter, and it’s (probably) really cold where you are. Well, we have it on good authority that winter’s a good time to stay in and cuddle. So, to assist you in those efforts, we’ve curated this list. These Disney movies will warm you up where it matters most—right in the heart. And if done properly (blankets, snuggly couch, hot chocolate), the experience will warm you up all over. Ready?
1. Lilo & Stitch
This is the perfect movie to watch when you’re chilly, simply because it’s set in that tropical paradise we call Hawaii. The montage of everyone surfing around and Stitch burying himself in the sand will mentally transport you to a place where sunblock is necessary.
2. Finding Nemo
Watching Marlin, Dory, and Nemo adventure through the big blue sea will put you in a warm state of mind, not to mention prepare you for Finding Dory (which is coming to theaters so soon—on June 17! Your calendars better be marked!).
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
There’s nothing like watching everyone melt in the heat during Commodore Norrington’s ceremony to make you grateful for the winter chill.
4. The Rescuers Down Under
Sunny vibes? Check. Big adventure? Check. The opportunity to transport yourself to the land down under without leaving your couch? Extra check.
5. The Little Mermaid
Though not a distinctly summer movie, our thought process is mermaids → oceans → beaches → summertime, and we’re standing by that.
6. The Lion King
The animated sun rising over the African savanna during “The Circle of Life” is so epic that it probably generates IRL heat.
7. Hercules
Ancient Greece is a hot place where people wear gladiator sandals and togas. While doing the same is not advisable for you in this winter moment, you can at least live vicariously through them.
