As Disney fans, we know that some of the best movies in the world are made at Pixar Animation Studios. And some of the best artistic interpretations of these highly acclaimed films are adorned in the pages of the Disney•Pixar Golden Books!
Beginning all the way back in 1944, year after year, the Disney Golden Books have used bold colors, vivid illustrations, and a simple graphical style to retell our favorite Disney stories.
The Disney•Pixar Golden Books are distinct in the sense that they bring computer animated storytelling to a vibrant two-dimensional form. The books are not just screen captures from Disney•Pixar films, but unique visual interpretations that add something entirely new to these stories.
Additionally, these books are often illustrated by the very artists who worked on these films. “I wasn’t nervous, I was giddy when I got a book to do,” exclaimed UP and Inside Out co-director Ronnie del Carmen. “I stayed up all night, weekends, just to do it right. I’m an experienced artist in film, but I wanted to make sure the images I created for the book aimed for that same excellence.”
Today we’re going on a special journey, exploring that excellence with a gallery of art from the Disney•Pixar Golden Books! So, without further ado, let’s jet-set to art … and beyond!
