“What do you want to say to women who look in the mirror and not like what they see?”
As women, we expect so much of ourselves. We want to be beautiful, intelligent, ambitious, loving, exotic and just plain fabulous. I can do it, but (a) I’m moi, and (b) I have an enormous staff and devoted entourage. If you don’t have all that going for you, then I strongly suggest the following. Look in the mirror and shout out this affirmation as loud as you can: “Hello, gorgeous! I love you! I love you! I love you!” I do this every single morning, after every meal, and twice before bedtime. It is so empowering! (If, for some reason, this doesn’t work, then I strongly suggest you buy a new mirror. There’s something about redecorating a room that always makes me feel better about myself.)

“What advice would you give to an aspiring Broadway actress?”
If vous are Broadway bound, I have three suggestions:
1. Work hard at your craft. Take lessons in singing, dancing, acting, fencing, jousting, standing around backstage, et al. The more you know, the less you have to fib about what you know.
2. Be bold and brassy—it’s the stage. You need to project to the back row of the mezzanine. Also, you need to grab opportunity when it comes your way: My big chance came during out-of-town tryouts for The Muppet Show. I stepped onto that stage a shy, nervous chorus girl … and stepped off that stage … a vibrant, vivacious, everything’s-comin’-up-roses Broadway star!
3. Try and get a part in “Hamilton.” From what I hear, it’s going to run forever.
