As the guy who brought Olaf to life and portrayed the live-action LeFou flawlessly, we’re pretty sure Josh Gad could play any Disney character. That’s why we’ve put together an imaginary list of Disney characters we’d love to see portrayed by our one and only, Josh Gad. These are totally dreamed up, completely imaginary, and just our humble opinions—but see if you agree!
1. Max Goof from A Goofy Movie.
Josh Gad is cool enough to pull off Max Goof. Enough said.
2. Bernard from The Rescuers.
Josh Gad has the warm personality and comedic timing to pull off Bernard, played by the great Bob Newhart in both The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under.
3. The squirrel from The Emperor’s New Groove.
There’s something about Josh Gad that leads us to believe that he could pull of the role of the squirrel. Maybe it’s that he’s very funny and animated, so all we’d need to do is pair him up with the lovable Kronk to create witty banter.
4. Archimedes from The Sword in the Stone.
We think Josh Gad would put a fun, original spin on the role of Merlin’s cantankerous pet owl.
5. Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
We think it’s about time to upgrade Josh Gad’s Disney status from lovable sidekick to leading man, and what better way to do it than with the character of Quasimodo? The part calls for someone empathetic, likable, and accomplished, as well as someone who can really sing. If that’s not a personal ad for Josh Gad, we don’t know what is.
