If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Homecoming yet, you’re going to want to get on that ASAP. If you’re like us, you were completely blown away by Tom Holland’s memorable performance and debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. He’s was everything we’d ever dreamed Peter Parker could be! Now that he has his own movie, we’re even more impressed with Tom Holland. His performance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which hit theaters this weekend, perfectly portrayed what it’s like to be a teenager … while also being a superhero. In the film, Peter is basically trying to prove to Tony Stark that he’s ready to be on the level of the Avengers. But he’s also trying to get through high school. There are tons of perfectly awkward high school moments that made us cringe. There were also brilliantly epic battles when Peter went up against Vulture (played by Michael Keaton.) It. Was. Cray. And we loved every minute of it. Here’s why Tom Holland is our new fave:
He plays the super brave, super strong Spider-Man, but he is also just the cutest! It takes a true gift to be a super hero and adorable at the same time. Tom is pictured above with Zendaya (who plays Michelle) and Laura Harrier (who plays Liz), both of which are also our new faves.
Peter Parker is super smart, which is a huge reason why Tony Stark recruits him, but we’re pretty sure Tom Holland had to do some research to be on Peter Parker’s intelligence level. Also, just standing next to Robert Downey Jr. aka Tony Stark aka Iron Man has got to make you like a million times smarter instantly.
He’s really into science puns.
While you’re watching the movie, make sure you pay close attention to Peter Parker’s T-shirts. They contain some of the greatest science puns we’ve ever seen. In the video above, Tom talks about his favorite science pun T-shirt, and it makes us want to add these shirts to our wardrobe ASAP.
He’s super grateful to be Spider-man.
Tom was interviewed above on the red carpet for Spider-Man: Homecoming, and you can tell it’s pretty much a dream come true. He talks about how amazing the process was, and how grateful he is to be Spider-Man. We’re grateful for you, Tom!
He surrounds himself with cool people.
This cast is the best. Pictured above with Tom is director Jon Watts, and cast mates Marisa Tomei (May), Jacob Batalon (Peter’s BFF, Ned), and Laura Harrier (Peter’s crush, Liz.) You can tell they all really like each other. We want to be in on this squad.
He’s able to hang with the best.
NBD, just chilling with Michael Keaton (aka Vulture) and Robert Downey Jr. (aka Tony Stark aka Iron Man) and totally owning it. What a champion.
He’s a real hero.
Just look at that pose. We’re so excited to see where Tom Holland aka Peter Parker aka Spider-Man goes next, because he’s winning at life in our book.
BRB, going to see Spider-Man: Homecoming again.
