Tonight’s Stitchers was packed with indie gold, from synthy, new wave inspired tracks to lush, alt-rock pieces from up-and-comers. Future Monarchs are a rock quintet hailing from Chicago. The song featured in the episode is off their first EP, “Weird Weather”; they debuted their first full-length album in September of 2014. Shoegaze-y track “Different Coast” is the work of Suburban Living, a solo project from Philadelphia-by-way-of-Virginia-Beach artist Wesley Bunch. His full-length record of the same name is out now, and you can also catch him on tour this summer (if you’re lucky). The episode closes out with the mellow, psych-inspired track “Girlfriend” by duo Donovan Blanc and an upbeat, unreleased song by The Brinks, titled “The Rip”. ♫ Hold onto the truth, it’s over your head, what’s the use in sorrow if it swallows you again ♫
