This summer, the greatest heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will square off against each other in Captain America: Civil War, which pits Captain America (Chris Evans) against Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), after politicians seek to implement an act requiring superheroes to register with the government. All of the other heroes pick a side and the results are an out-and-out brawl encompassing the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. And if the new teaser, just aired during the big game, is any indication, it’s going to be epic.
While the new teaser is brief, it’s also telling: This movie is going to be packed with rock ‘em sock ‘em action, with Iron Man and Captain America leading a whole squadron of superheroes against one another. One of the greatest new moments was towards the end, where we see all of the characters (including Black Panther and Ant Man) facing off against one another. We got goosebumps. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, in terms of what the movie has in store.
This third Captain America entry picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, with Cap leading a new group of Avengers and Tony Stark trying to move away from the superhero lifestyle. The film features Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Vision (Paul Bettany), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland). So, yes, this is going to be stuffed with superhero awesomeness.
Also, a set of emojis has debuted on Twitter. Offer certain hash tags and several Marvel heroes will appear, done in the adorable style of artist 100% Soft (who was also responsible for the Star Wars emojis). “I’ve been drawing these characters since I was kid, so this was a really fun project to work on. I love how the MCU has translated the characters to live action while maintaining the spirit of the original design, so that’s what I tried to do too,” 100% Soft told us. (He said he was really, really excited to draw The Vision after seeing him in Avengers: Age of Ultron.)
So show your support for your favorite hero via Twitter hashtag.
