Moana rolls into theaters this Thanksgiving and we cannot wait! This movie is all our dreams combined: the creators of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin (and many more) Ron Clements and John Musker, music from Lin-Manuel Miranda (as well as Mark Mancina, and Opetaia Foi’a), and a cast of amazing characters. Including 15-year-old Auli’i Carvalho who plays the strong, independent, and generally awesome heroine, Moana, in this coming-of-age story. Oh, and did we mention The Rock is in it? You may already know that he’s playing Maui, but it’s time to meet the rest of the characters from this highly-anticipated film. (Please take note of Pua, the adorable pig and our favorite character thus far.)
Auli’i Carvalho lends her voice to the title character, Moana, a teenager who dreams of becoming a master way-finder.
Dwayne Johnson voices Maui—half god, half mortal, all awesome.
Morrison voices Moana’s father, Chief Tui, the gregarious and well-respected leader of the people of Motunui Island. Nicole Scherzinger voices Moana’s mother, Sina, who always has her daughter’s back. Playful, sharp, and strong-willed, Sina appreciates Moana’s longing to be on the water, but also wants to protect her daughter from the fabled dangers beyond the reef.
Rachel House voices Gramma Tala, Moana’s confidante and best friend, who shares her granddaughter’s special connection to the ocean.
Jemaine Clement provides the voice of Tamatoa, a self-absorbed, 50-foot crab who lives in Lalotai, the realm of monsters.
Pua is Moana’s loyal pet pig with puppy energy and an innocent playful spirit.
The Kakamora, an intense team of crazy, coconut-armored pirates who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Alan Tudyk, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ lucky charm is behind the voice of Heihei, a rooster who accidentally stows away on Moana’s canoe.
Moana opens in theaters November 23.
