It’s a known fact by now that Disney loves hiding Easter eggs in their films. The self-referential nods can be as elaborate as inserting a character into a scene where they might not belong, or as simple as crafting a Mickey-shaped object. While most of the joy revolves around finding them for ourselves once we watch the movies, Moana directors (and Disney legends), John Musker, and Ron Clements, just hinted at two that we should look out for in Moana. Hint: one of them fits in, while the other clearly does not. Intrigued? Keep reading!
“Flounder does appear in this movie,” Musker revealed to BuzzFeed. “You’ll have to find Flounder. I won’t say where.”
Considering Flounder lives in the ocean, we can definitely see him making an appearance. But then, there’s the next one:
“Olaf is in the movie very briefly,” Clements added.
Despite his love of summer, something tells us Olaf would not fare well in Moana’s tropical setting. But the animators are pretty creative with their Easter eggs, so he could be anywhere.
“Once you realize where he is, you’ll get it,” Musker said. “But we don’t want to say too much.”
We can’t wait to search for the characters (and more) once Moana hits theaters on November 23, 2016.
