If you already have a trip to Walt Disney World Resort penciled into your schedule (and even if you don’t) we’ve got something that will get you even more excited to visit the Park this season. Starting on November 4, a new nighttime projection show titled “Once Upon a Time” will debut at Magic Kingdom Park. Inspired by a similar experience at Tokyo Disney Resort, the show uses special projection mapping technology to cover Cinderella Castle with images that look three-dimensional.
The show is structured as a series of bedtime stories Mrs. Potts is sharing with Chip before he’s sent off to the cupboard for the night. These aren’t just any bedtime stories, however. In addition to Beauty and the Beast, the nighttime spectacular takes guests on a magical adventure through scenes from Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
As of right now, we can expect moments like Peter Pan’s iconic flight from London to Never Land, the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and the famous face-off between Gaston and Beast. It certainly sounds like a wonderful way to end the night before we have to go back to the cupboard (aka our car or hotel.)
