Disney Channel’s Firsts on the First Marathon

The Newest Season of The Bachelor


Another season of The Bachelor is upon us, and now you can even join Oh My Disney’s Bachelor Fantasy League and predict your Final Four contestants. Then, get ready to tune in to ABC Network beginning January 2 to watch the roses fly.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Star Wars-Themed Tours

Many new Star Wars experiences made their way to Disney Parks in 2016, and it gave us life. We also found out that a seven hour Star Wars-themed tour in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World with begin on January 2. Complete with an insider look at the Star Wars Launch Bay, a meet and greet with Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, and the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, we’re getting tickets to this experience ASAP.

Lunar New Year Celebrations at Disneyland Resort


We can’t wait to head to Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort to take in the brand new experiences celebrating the Lunar New Year, starting on January 20. Complete with a nighttime water show in Paradise Bay featuring Mulan and Mushu called “Hurry Home”, three new Asian marketplaces offering foods inspired by Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culture, and more amazing entertainment in the Paradise Gardens area, it’s sure to be a spectacular celebration.

Main Street Electrical Parade’s Return to Disneyland


So. Much. Nostalgia. We absolutely cannot wait to hear that iconic music and see those beautiful lights in the Main Street Electrical Parade, which returns to Disneyland Resort on January 20. Don’t miss the special after-hours premiere event on January 19 which you can find out more about here.

The Newsies on Broadway Cinema Event


We’re obviously obsessed with Newsies here at Oh My Disney, and when we heard we’d be able to see the stage adaptation of Newsies on screen in the cinema, we felt like the kings of New York. Catch it on February 16, 18, and 22 and get tickets here.

The Debut of the Live-Action Retelling of Beauty and the Beast

This is a big moment. We are just months away from the premiere of this long-awaited classic retelling and we are literally counting down the days until March 17. Until then, we are staring at these images from the set, and watching the teaser trailer on repeat. We. Can’t. Wait.

The Return of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival


We had an amazing time at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and we can’t wait to come back to Epcot in Walt Disney World in 2017. International food and sweet treats, amazing entertainment, and more await August 31 through November 13, 2017.

The Premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

We had so many thoughts when we saw the teaser trailer for the upcoming Marvel film, we couldn’t handle it. It’s clearly going to be epic, hilarious, and of course have an amazing soundtrack. May 2017 can’t come soon enough. Also: Baby! Groot!

The Debut of Born in China, Narrated by John Krasinski


Following panda bears, golden monkeys, snow leopards, and more, this story is sure to be equally adorable and breathtaking. And we couldn’t be more excited to hear John Krasinski narrate the whole thing! Born in China will hit theaters on April 21, just in time for Earth Day.

The Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

This teaser trailer has us all kinds of excited to find out just what Captain Salazar (played by Javier Bardem) wants from Captain Jack Sparrow. Looks like it’s not good. And when that iconic music plays? Chills! We’ll be first in line in theaters on May 26.

The Premiere of Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3

The third installment of Disney•Pixar’s Cars is set to zoom into theaters on June 16 and already we have chills based on the teaser trailer. What’s going to happen to Lightning McQueen? Will he be able to get back in the race? We will be counting the days until we can find out.

Shanghai Disneyland’s One Year Anniversary


We can’t believe on June 16 it will be an entire year since Shanghai Disneyland opened. The newest Disney Park absolutely took our breath away and we can’t wait to see everything in store for it!

The Return of DuckTales

We had an amazing time at the event this year and we can’t wait to come back to Epcot in Walt Disney World in 2017. International food and sweet treats, amazing entertainment, and more await August 31 – November 13.

We could not contain our joy when we got a first look of the cast of Disney XD’s upcoming DuckTales series. They all sang the iconic theme song and we cried real tears of joy. We cannot wait to see this new series in action in the summer!

It’s going to be a summer of Disney Villains on Disney Channel, with the premiere of Descendants 2. We’ve been hearing all about the new VKs set to join the cast, including Dylan Playfair as Gaston’s son, China Anne McClain as Uma, Ursula’s daughter, and Thomas Doherty as Harry, Captain Hook’s son. Luckily, we have this sneak peek to enjoy while we’re waiting.

We got a first look at the gorgeous images of Pandora – The World of Avatar, coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, at D23’s Destination D: Amazing Adventures and we were completely in awe. We learned about a few of the new attractions in the land, including the Na’vi River Journey and the Avatar Flight of Passage, both of which look breathtaking and will be making their debut in the summer at Walt Disney World.

We always look forward to the D23 Expo every year, and 2017 is no exception! Including an expanded layout, an all-new exhibit curated by the Walt Disney Archives, and the Disney Legends Ceremony, the event will be packed with must-see moments. The wait is almost over! In the summer, we are so excited to ride on the Disneyland Railroad again, and have amazing adventures on the Rivers of America. The above concept art of Thor: Ragnarok assures us that this installment in the Thor series will be epic. With an amazing cast set to join the journey, we have no doubt it’s going to be a memorable experience. The Debut of Disney•Pixar’s Coco


We got a first look at Coco this year with adorable concept art, and we can’t wait to see more. We also learned that Benjamin Bratt, Gael García Bernal, and newcomer Anthony Gonzalez will be adding their voice talents to the film. We will be counting the days until November 22.

Star Wars: Episode VIII Hits Theaters

Words cannot describe our excitement when Star Wars: Episode VIII began filming this year, and the above announcement had us on the edge of our seats wanting more. It seems like it will be forever until December 15 arrives, but when it does we know it will be epic.
