Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli’i Cravalho Performed “How Far I’ll Go” at the Oscars and It Was Everything

We already knew that Auli’i Cravalho and Lin-Manuel Miranda would be performing “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana at the Academy Awards this year, but we couldn’t have predicted just how beautiful and inspiring the performance would be!

Lin-Manuel opened the performance with an introductory rap that set the scene and introduced Auli’i in a way that only Lin-Manuel Miranda can. Then, the curtains opened on Auli’i in a stunning red dress, with dancers emulating waves creating a sea of blue behind her.  Auli’i was, of course, completely in her element, and sounded amazing. She didn’t even let it affect her when a rogue wave slightly bumped her head!

We can’t get enough of Auli’i’s sigh of relief and gratitude when the performance was over. It was such a genuine moment; we could really see her taking it all in. She let her emotions be known in a tweet shortly after:

So were we! Way to be, Auli’i!

If you can’t get enough of the soundtrack, you can buy it here!
