The Teaser Trailer for Thor: Ragnarok Is Here and It’s Epic

Well, this week is already amazing! Marvel Studios just released the brand new teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok and we now have more insight into the upcoming film, and answers to our questions about where Thor has been since we last saw him (besides hanging with his roommate Darryl, as seen in one of our favorite bonus features of all time.) In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer (what!!) and is trying to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization. He will be going up against the all-powerful and ruthless Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. But first, there are some surprises for Thor. Take a look:

Anyone else completely terrified when Hela literally crushes Thor’s mighty hammer with her hand? We can tell she is going to be a formidable enemy. Thor speaks our thoughts when he says, “Well I know what you’re thinking. How did this happen?” Yes! How did this happen? We then see that Thor is being captured and thrown into a gladiatorial contest, led by Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster (sitting next to the infamous Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston). Also, they cut Thor’s hair, as we previously were shocked to learn in this cover photo. Obviously, Thor can pull off any haircut. But who is Thor contending against in the contest? It’s. The. Hulk! In true Thor fashion, we go from being seriously concerned for Thor, to immediately LOLing when he sees the Hulk in the ring and says, “YES! We know each other! He’s a friend from work!” Classic Thor.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, and also the amazing Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. What a cast!

And now, feast your eyes on this brand new Thor: Ragnarok poster:

We are so into this teaser trailer and poster, and can’t wait to see more as we get closer to November when Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters. Counting the days.

What did you think of the teaser trailer? Tell us in the comments!
