Last night Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy (looking glamorous in their shimmering outfits) joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars for a spectacular Disney Night celebration! The evening was filled was fabulous dances to Disney tunes, and some of our favorite Disney characters, like Dory and Olaf, made fun, surprise appearances. Tinker Bell started the show with a wave of her wand, and the opening number, led by Alfonso Ribeiro, was glittering with fairy dust and Disney magic! Check out the fantastical opening below:
The first performance of the night was a foxtrot by Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, dancing to “Evermore” from Beauty and the Beast. Rashad’s suit was sparkling, and so was this enchanting dance! Julianne Hough, who is one of the judges, said the routine was timeless.
Next up was Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd doing a fun jazz routine to “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinocchio. After seeing the animated Pinocchio skipping around Nick and Peta’s rehearsal, the actual performance was playful and fun. The judges felt that Nick’s inner child came shining through, and Minnie gave the recent Bachelor a rose!
To the tune of Finding Dory’s “Unforgettable,” Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko danced the Viennese Waltz. Judge Carrie Ann said that Erika didn’t look like a princess, but more like a queen! Although the elegant dance was unforgettable, the couple will not be returning next week. Check out their performance below:
After seeing our favorite snowman, Olaf, bump into the camera during rehearsals, Heather Morris and Alan (subbing for an injured Maksim Chmerkovskiy) performed a joyful Jazz number to “For the First Time in Forever” from Frozen. The sets for this number were gorgeous, and Morris made a perfect Anna, dancing on the judge’s table and throwing snowballs! Check out the adorable dance:
Dancing the tango to Wreck-It Ralph’s “When Can I See You Again?” was Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess. We journeyed into a video game world, and Bruno, another one of the Dancing With the Stars judges, said Bonner definitely didn’t wreck the tango.
Next, Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Paso Doble to “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan, and it was captivating! Donny Osmond, who voiced the epic song for the animated classic, sang it live, which added to the drama and excitement. The couple completely conquered their dance. Normandi said Mulan was her favorite Disney Princess, and this performance was one of our favorites of the night. They got three Mickey-shaped 10’s!! And did you see an animated Mushu rooting them on during a rehearsal? So cute! Check out this amazing dance here:
Jiving to “Ride” from the upcoming Cars 3 was David Ross and Lindsay Arnold! The couple looked flashy in their race car-inspired costumes, and ZZ Ward sang live as the couple danced with high energy and pizazz. Lightning McQueen even drove by! Check it out:
Prepare to be enchanted by Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev’s delightful jazz routine to “That’s How You Know” from Enchanted. Kerrigan made a convincing Giselle, and the sets and additional dancers helped recreate the exuberant moment from the Disney film.
The last dance of the evening was by Simone Biles and Sasha Farber. The couple made a splash with their contemporary routine to “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana. Auli’i Cravalho beautifully sang live, and the performance was inspiring, just like the character Moana. The couple garnered two 10’s! (And an animated Pua and Heihei joined the couple in rehearsals, and of course Heihei wobbled right into the camera! It was adorable!) See Biles and Farber’s flowing dance moves here:
And again with the wave of her wand, Tinker Bell closed the show. It was an enchanting night that made us smile at the magic and wonder of Disney! What did you think about this Disney Night on Dancing With the Stars? Tell us in the comments!
