We have an AMAZING musical moment to share!! High School Musical actors Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans) and Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans) reunited to sing an updated version of “What I’ve Been Looking For,” and it’s just what we’ve been looking for! The High School Musical actors first sang the song as twins Sharpay and Ryan Evans during an audition for their school’s musical. The performance involved sparkly outfits, lots of hand-snapping, jazzy dance moves, and an upbeat tempo. It’s was totally over-the-top, and we loved it! And now we are completely delighted by this new, updated rendition seen on Ashley’s YouTube Channel for her Music Sessions series. We also get to see the actors reminisce about their High School Musical days, and just like Sharpay’s fashion, it’s fabulous! Take a look:
AHHH! It’s so good! First, we LOVE seeing these two together again. And we were completely surprised to learn that when they first met on the set of High School Musical, they were not fond of each other at all. Who knew?
We will always have a special place in our hearts for the original Sharpay/Ryan version, complete with bedazzled microphones. But this more mature, slower version is impressive, really shows off their singing skills, and has totally charmed us all over again.
And on that note, we feel the need to watch High School Musical right now!
