Jason Bateman voices Nick Wilde in Zootopia, so naturally, we are thrilled that he was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today! Zootopia, which won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature, wouldn’t have been the same without Bateman’s vocal talents as the smart, cunning, and charismatic fox who helps police officer bunny Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) solve the mysterious case of missing animals in the bustling metropolis of Zootopia. Bateman is a Golden Globe Award-winning actor who also directs and produces, and we Disney fans are so excited the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has honored him in the motion picture category! The live stream of Jason Bateman’s Star ceremony brings us joy. Take a look:
Speaking of voicing character Nick Wilde, Jason Bateman says that it was “completely satisfying for a 4-year-old, but also timely.”
He also said this of his of career:
As I became older, the character actor route was something I lost a little interest in as the style of acting that I liked switched into more of the everyman as opposed to the leading man. I really enjoy doing these characters that are the proxy for the audience. I am sort of your representative in this world next to these crazy people. The closer I am to behaving like an audience member the easier access I have to your funny bone.
