The final 12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas update is coming to you from a galaxy far, far away. During the recent Star Wars: Galactic Nights panel, the talented Imagineers revealed to us new details about the Star Wars-inspired lands coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2019. We’re on the edge of the galaxy with excitement! Here’s what we’ve discovered so far:
Fly the Millennium Falcon
Imagineers are all about the details. They’re determined to create an authentic Star Wars experience, starting with the Millennium Falcon. You’re going to feel like Han Solo himself climbing through the Falcon’s hatch, walking through her corridors, sitting inside the cockpit, powering her up, and actually flying her! Here’s a glimpse inside the ship:But the Falcon won’t be flying alone. Imagineers are working on building a fleet of full-size X-Wing Starfighters, made of real metal and ready to soar through the galaxy!
Toys from a Toydarian
Guests are going to want souvenirs from their visit to Batuu—a remote trading post on the edge of the galaxy—so Imagineers built a marketplace inspired by their experiences visiting Istanbul and Marrakech. One of shops and merchant stalls is run by a Toydarian, a creature that you might remember from Tatooine in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. And he sells, well, toys! Check out this concept art of the toy stall:Within this outpost, you can find tons of cool exclusive toys that look hand-crafted by local artisans straight out of the Star Wars galaxy!
