The past four Fridays have been awesome ones, because as part of Frozen Fridays, Frozen on Broadway has been releasing one new track from the new show every week! Talk about chill. The songs were all written by original Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and they all fit in so perfectly with the fabric of the show! Listen to all four songs below and let us know what you think.
First up, there’s “Monster,” performed by Caissie Levy, who plays Elsa in the show. The song takes place in Act 2, as Elsa seeks isolation from townsfolk who are looking for her. It’s also our new go-to karaoke song.
“I can’t think of a better voice to birth this song than Caissie Levy. We are so lucky to have her,” said songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez. We have to agree with that!
“What Do You Know About Love?”
Next up, we got a lyric video for “What Do You Know About Love?” a cheeky duet performed by Patti Murin and Jelani Alladin, who play Anna and Kristoff.
So cute! We can practically hear their chemistry.
“Dangerous to Dream”
On the third Frozen Friday, Frozen on Broadway gave to us another Elsa solo in the form of a lyric video! Listen to the heartbreaking ballad “Dangerous to Dream,” performed by Caissie Levy.
And finally, they released “True Love,” which Kristen Anderson-Lopez calls “the emotional climax of Anna’s journey in Frozen.” It also happens to be Lopez’s favorite song in the show! Watch Patti Murin perform it beautifully, while accompanied on the piano by songwriter Robert Lopez.
We’re getting teary eyed! Seriously, these songs are awakening the musical theatre nerds within us, and we can’t wait to go to New York and get tickets for the show!
