Casting Announced for the Live-Action Kim Possible Disney Channel Original Movie

We’re too excited because the leads for the upcoming Disney Channel live-action Kim Possible have officially been cast! Sadie Stanley and Sean Giambrone will star as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable, respectively, in the Disney Channel Original Movie remake, going into production this summer and set to debut in 2019! The animated Kim Possible series began in 2002 and followed tough teen Kim Possible, her loyal sidekick Ron Stoppable, and Ron’s naked mole-rat Rufus as they faced the typical trials and tribulations of high school—oh, and saving the world from villains in their spare time. Take a look at the fresh new faces portraying this dynamic duo in the live-action movie:

The resemblance is uncanny.

Disney Channel's "Kim Possible" stars Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable and Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible.

Judy Taylor, Disney Channel Casting and Talent Relations senior vice president, shared why these two were chosen for the roles:

“Sadie delivers Kim’s confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she’s an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit. Sean is such a magnetic actor; he always finds the right balance of physical comedy and heart. We’re excited for audiences to see Sadie and Sean bring these iconic roles to life.”

Stanley, a 16-year-old native of Columbia, South Carolina, landed the role of Kim Possible in her first-ever audition. You may have also seen 18-year-old Giambrone in ABC’s comedy The Goldbergs, though he will film Kim Possible before returning to production for the sixth season of The Goldbergs.

The talented pair was announced for their roles in the best way possible, with some very special guests. Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle, the voices of the animated Kim and Ron, went all out—crime-fighting poses and all—to audition for the teen live-action roles of Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable! The results were hilarious. They were also joined by Lisa Schaffer, the animated series’ original voice director, and Romano’s adorable 16-month-old daughter Isabella. See for yourself:

Costumes on point. Romano and Friedle are true legends, but we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Kim Possible when they pass the baton to Stanley and Giambrone in the upcoming live-action Disney Channel Original Movie!
