Mickey Mouse has been around for 90 years, and this year ABC is going all out with “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular”! Take a look at this adorable image that accompanied the ABC announcement:
Of course, we needed to get all the details on this. “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular” is a grand celebration at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California that will include musical performances, moving tributes, and never-before-seen short films—all featuring the iconic star. And we won’t get any FOMO because we can experience it all during the two-hour ABC special on Sunday, November 4 at 8:00p.m. EST!
Fifteen-time Emmy Award-winner Don Mischer will produce and direct the prime-time event, and he’s just as excited as us. Mischer said:
“I’m delighted to be working on this magical event. Walt Disney was a major influence in my early life and actually inspired me to pursue my life’s work in television.”
His Don Mischer Productions partners, Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare, who will be executive producing, are also more than ready to celebrate! They said:
“It’s remarkable how strongly Mickey Mouse connects with people around the world, and it’s an honor for us to help celebrate such a beloved global icon.”
Mickey has been a star since his big-screen debut in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928, and we can’t wait to watch him shine on-screen once again when “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular” airs on ABC in November!
