10 Times You Needed a Raven-Symoné “Oh, Snap!”

Raven-Symoné is an inspiration to us all. She’s sassy, she’s smart and she always knew how to get herself out of sticky situations as Raven Baxter on That’s So Raven. While we don’t have the ability to see the future, we can definitely relate to all of her “Oh, snap!” moments. In an attempt to better express the nuanced and varied uses of “Oh, snap,” we have prepared this list of examples you may encounter in your own life:

When nobody will back you up. You’ve got a good idea, you’re standing up for it and you’re waiting for your crew to back you up. Yet no one does. Very appropriate time for your sassiest “Oh, snap!”

When you’re a little less than graceful. Let’s face it, we’ve all wiped out or tripped up the stairs before in front of a bunch of people. It happens.

When you run into your man and you’re using your best moves but he’s not into it. “Oh, snap! Sorry you can’t handle all of this.”

When people are trying to mess with you when you’re trying to get online. The Internet is serious business and you cannot be bothered. Suggested line: “Oh, snap! Please do not mess with me right now, I have emails to check, statuses to write, and tweets to compose.”

When you get caught red-handed and your mom chews you out. It doesn’t matter how old you are, this can happen to anyone. Just make sure you say it under your breath so she can’t really hear you and go, “What did you just say to me?”

When you’re in a rough spot but you start figuring out a plan. This is one of the rare times the “Oh, snap!” can be used in a positive context, so relish this instance.

Whenever you encounter public displays of affection. Nobody has time for that. Break it up, move along, “Oh, snap!”

When the teacher calls on you and you don’t know the answer. “Oh, snap,” echoes over and over in your head as your anxiety mounts. This GIF really says it all.

When you’re on a phone call and you can’t find an easy way to end it and hang up. You keep trying to hint that you have to go, but the person on the other end continues to tell you in detail about what they ate for lunch today. Easy solution? “Oh, snap! I forgot about this really important thing I gotta go do, talk to you later, bye.” Problem solved.

Anytime. Anytime at all is appropriate for an “Oh, snap” if you have the enthusiasm and facial expressions to back it up.
