Let’s get ready to rumble! Hades is coming to Once Upon a Time, and we’re excited because we just got our first look at Greg Germann in the role. He’ll be making his debut when the show returns on March 6—which also happens to be the show’s 100th episode. Boy, time sure flies when you’re having fun.
With the episode “Souls of the Departed” taking the cast to the Underworld, this villain’s entrance is perfectly timed. While we don’t know what exactly the Lord of the Dead will be up to this season, showrunners Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz previously mentioned that he’s inspired by both the Greek myth, and the Disney character. On top of that, they’ll be adding their own OUAT spin.
“Hades is such a fun, endlessly creative challenge,” Germann stated about playing the character. “Anything goes. The creators bring him to life on the page with the same out-of-the-box unpredictability that they bring to the rest of the show. They strike the perfect balance between keeping things grounded and letting things fly—sometimes literally.”
“Hades is a very dangerous fellow, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun being the devil,” Kitsis added.
With the addition of both Hades and Gaston this season, it looks like we’re in for a real treat.
To see Hades in action, tune in to Once Upon a Time on ABC Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
