We’re already halfway through Season 21 of The Bachelor, and only twelve contestants remain. After Astrid and Sarah’s departure, The Bachelor squad departed for New Orleans where they encountered alligators, and ghosts, and a two-on-one date, oh my! Thankfully, it wasn’t all scary. There was a joyous one-on-one date filled with music and dancing, a haunted-but-fun group date featuring a Ouija board and a little girl ghost, and one lucky lady received a Beauty and the Beast-inspired enchanted rose. (We lucky viewers got to see the official trailer for the new Beauty and the Beast movie, and it looks AMAZING!) Then it happened: The epic bayou battle between Corinne and Taylor. Corinne attacked Taylor, and Taylor and a bunch of swamp bugs attacked Corinne. Ultimately Taylor was sent home, but she’s not going anywhere yet. She has a date to destroy first! What will Taylor tell Nick about Corinne when she interrupts their date? Will Corinne keep her rose? And what will Nick think about all this drama? Tune in next week to find out! ‘Til then, here’s how the contestants rank after this week’s episode:
Rachel, 31, attorney, Dallas, TX
After a New Orleans one-on-one date with Nick that felt like a fairytale, Rachel is back on top with a rose. She said it was the best date of her life, and Nick said they have explosive chemistry. Together they danced with parasols in a Second Line, looking confident and carefree as they showed off their moves in the NOLA streets. They ate oysters and beignets, wandered through street markets, and kissed on a Mardi Gras float. Throughout the day Rachel felt giddy, had butterflies, and flashed her radiant smile. During dinner we were learned that her father is a federal judge, and she and Nick were comfortably open and vulnerable with each other. Nick said he was super into her. We’re super into their relationship!
Danielle M., 31, neonatal nurse, Nashville, TN
Danielle had an enchanted evening on her group date to the haunted house. She communicated with a spirit, bonded with Vanessa, and most importantly spent much needed alone time with bachelor Nick. She felt that their relationship had deepened, and we were deeply happy about that. At the end of the date, Nick offered her the enchanted rose inspired by The Beauty and the Beast! It was … enchanting!
Corinne, 24, business owner, Miami, FL
After feeling emotionally attacked and bullied by Taylor, Corinne fought back with emotional manipulation. The two faced off in a dreaded two-on-one date in an alligator-infested swamp filled with tarot card readings, voodoo, and scariest of all, more talk about emotional intelligence. With rose and voodoo doll in hand, Corinne emerged from the bayou victorious. But the Corinne-Taylor battle isn’t over yet! Taylor feels that Corinne’s relationship with Nick is built off whipped cream and lies, and she’s not going anywhere until she tells the bachelor her truth. Will Corinne survive the wrath of Taylor? We’ll find out next week!
Raven, 25, fashion boutique owner, Hoxie, AR
Raven said Nick was fine as a dime, and their relationship continues to feel easy and effortless. In fact she felt so comfortable around him that she accidentally told him when it was that she fell in love with him! Nick seemed pleasantly startled, and he felt sure it must have been when she witnessed his superior roller-skating skills. But Raven’s heart actually went pitter-patter when he sang a song from The Little Mermaid. Did we miss this moment? We want to see it! Any man that sings from The Little Mermaid has our heart, too.
Alexis, 23, aspiring dolphin trainer, Secaucus, NJ
This week Alexis faced one of her greatest fears: Nicholas Cage. Actually, she faced Nick wearing a Nicholas Cage mask. And she didn’t just face him – she kissed him! Alexis always provides good comic relief, and we love that about her. We suspect Nick might love that about her, too. Less drama, more fun seems to be her philosophy. We want to see more Alexis!
Danielle L., 27, small business owner, Los Angeles, CA
She felt a presence in the haunted house on her group date, but we didn’t feel much of her presence on our TV screens this week. But as Nick reminded her, absence makes the heart grow fonder. His heart still seems fond of Danielle, and their relationship is still in a great place.
Vanessa, 29, special education teacher, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
After wandering around the haunted mansion with Danielle M., Vanessa happily felt like she connected to the ghost child of the house. However, she didn’t get much time to connect with Nick this week. This doesn’t haunt us, though. We know they still have spook-tacular chemistry.
Kristina, dental hygienist, Lexington, KY
Kristina seemed engaged in communicating with spirits during the group date, but did she get to engage with Nick? We’re not really sure, but we think she and Nick have enough of a spark that she’s holding steady for now. We’re still looking forward to learning more about her past, and we hope Nick is, too.
Jaimi, 28, chef, New Orleans, LA
We respect that she respects ghosts, but Jaimi came off a bit strong as she lectured Nick and the others about the importance of taking ghosts seriously. Is Nick taking their relationship seriously? We’re not sure yet …
Whitney, 25, Pilates instructor, Chanhassen, MN
Is Whitney a ghost or a contestant? Because we barely see her! It was odd that Sarah and Astrid were sent home before Whitney, but apparently Nick still sees potential in his relationship with her. From our perspective, though, she’s in danger of going home.
Jasmine G., 29, pro basketball dancer, San Francisco, CA
During her group date, professional cheerleader Jasmine dared the little girl ghost to, “Bring it on!” And bring it on she did! Thanks to Jasmine’s skepticism, a chandelier crashed to the floor, a bookcase rattled, and a freaky dolly went missing. Jasmine became a believer by the end of the date, but we’re not sure we’re still believers in her potential with Nick. Hopefully that will change next week!
Josephine, 24, registered nurse, Santa Cruz, CA
We didn’t see Josephine progress her relationship with the bachelor this week, but she did seem to enjoy her time exploring the haunted mansion on her group date. For the third week in a row, Josephine is trending down. Will she survive the next rose ceremony? We’ll see!
Our final four picks became three last night. Sadly, Sarah was sent home. Although she was trending down last week, we were surprised to see her go so soon. We wish her all the best! Corinne received a rose last night, but we’re not sure she’ll keep it. As for Vanessa and Danielle L., they both seem to have solid standings with Nick and are still well on their way to the final four!
If you think you can predict who will be offered a rose and who’ll be sent packing, play in our Bachelor Fantasy League! As you make predictions each week, we’ll be tracking how well the contestants are faring on their ultimate quest to be offered the final rose and, hopefully, an engagement ring.
